Trump’s cabinet is not a joke. A joke implies a punchline. What we've witnessed is a burlesque, an ongoing grotesque spectacle of incompetence and greed. It could have been darkly humorous, if the stakes weren't so dangerously high.
The image that keeps rattling around in my skull is Stromboli's puppet show, just a… greasier remake.
Think about it: A spray-tanned Stromboli with the ethics of a rabid badger, promising everyone Pleasure Island, where they'll all turn into jackasses - and not the fun kind.
He rants, he raves, he hawks snake oil, and the Pinocchios in his cabinet bobble their heads in agreement. Loyalty is paramount, competence is optional, and the line between public service and personal enrichment vanishes faster than Melania's smile in Trump’s presence.
Do we see some familiar faces in this twisted cast?
Steve Bannon, as Honest John, is busy Bamboozling the base with promises of gold and glory, all while lining his own pockets. Tucker Carlson contracted for the role of Gideon – nodding along with glazed eyes, occasionally swiping a bauble, and generally enabling the whole damn mess with the enthusiasm of a puppy humping a fire hydrant. JD Vance? He's Lampwick, gleefully encouraging everyone to embrace their inner donkey. He's found a nice spot on Stromboli’s couch though!
The true tragedy is that this isn’t just a performance. It's reality, and we're all paying the price for the cheap seats, desperately hoping for a Blue Fairy to turn this whole damned puppet show into something real.
Who else deserves a role in this Stromboli's circus?
After all, there must be at least a grain of joke in every joke. So, unleash your imagination in the comments.
